Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) in New York | Trauma Therapy for Teens & Adults
Effective Trauma Treatment in Albany, NY & Throughout New York State
Are you struggling with painful memories from past trauma? Do anxiety, nightmares, or flashbacks interfere with your daily life? Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) offers a proven path to relief—often in just 5 sessions.
Our New York practice provides specialized trauma therapy for teens, adults, and parents dealing with the lasting effects of difficult experiences. We offer both in-person sessions at our Delmar, NY office and secure telehealth therapy throughout New York State.
What Is Accelerated Resolution Therapy?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy is an evidence-based treatment specifically designed to help people heal from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and phobias. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART uses guided eye movements to help your brain reprocess traumatic memories quickly and effectively.
How ART Works
During ART sessions, you'll work with a specially trained therapist who guides you through voluntary eye movements while you recall distressing memories. This process helps your brain "file away" traumatic experiences so they no longer cause intense emotional or physical reactions.
Key Benefits:
- Rapid results: Most people experience significant relief in 1-5 sessions
- You stay in control: You don't have to share details of your trauma out loud
- Evidence-based: Proven effective for PTSD, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions
- Long-lasting: Results are maintained over time
Who Can Benefit from ART in New York?
Teens & Adolescents
Teenagers dealing with bullying, assault, accidents, family trauma, or other distressing experiences often respond well to ART. The faster timeline can be especially appealing for teens who are hesitant about long-term therapy.
Adults
If you're an adult carrying the weight of past trauma—whether from childhood experiences, relationship violence, accidents, loss, or other events—ART can help you find relief and reclaim your life.
Parents
Parents who've experienced trauma often worry about how it affects their ability to show up for their children. ART can help you process your own experiences so you can be more present and emotionally available.
