Kathy Durivage, LCSW
Kathleen "Kathy" Durivage is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience working with children. She specializes in ages 9 through young adulthood. For the past 20 years, Kathy has worked in a local public middle school helping students that struggled with various developmental challenges such as social difficulties, anxiety, depression, ADHD, problem solving, and difficulties with coping and emotional regulation. Prior to working as a school social worker, Kathy worked in residential care in both Albany and Rennselear Counties. She provided individual and group counseling to youths that struggled with extreme behavioral and mental health difficulties.
Kathy utilizes Solution Focused, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness strategies to help young clients to increase self-awareness, gain more confidence, and ultimately improve coping and problem-solving skills in general. Kathy will explore the youth's motivations, personal goals in counseling and will collaborate with them and their families in the treatment planning process.
Kathy has been living in Delmar for the past 19 years with her family. She is excited to change gears in her career and provide individualized mental health care to our young community members in need.
